Summer 2014 Notes and Recap
It was mentioned in the Triple Crown Championship recap but is worth mentioning again. This was by far the youngest Cardinals team to ever compete at the 17u level with the average age of the players at 16.3 years old.

Team batting AVE was .294 and OBP was .399
Cardinals only K'd 107 times which led to a Ball In Play rate of a whopping 90%!!!
Notably, Reid Leonard had 107 plate appearances and only struck out 1 time. Reid led the squad with 24 RBI and he and Nick Butts tied for most hits with 32.
Jake Huggins led the team with a .358 batting average while also leading the team in Triples (2), Slg Pct (.469) and OPS (.928)
Nick Butts tied Cayman Richardson for the lead in 2B (6), while he led in Runs Scored (23), Steals (16) and was second with 23 RBI
Steven Carpenter walked an amazing 29 times and stole 15 bases which helped lead to his 21 runs scored.
On the mound the team collectively held a 2.29 ERA and .211 Ave Against and a miniscule 1.10 WHIP
Cardinal pitchers struck out 195 batters vs only 83 BB (a 2..3 to 1 ratio)
Nick Roth led all pitchers with 29K against only 6 BB on the summer.
Johnny Gregory only threw 16 innings but he made them all count as he racked up a team leading 4 wins while striking out 22 batters with a .100 B-Ave against.
Chesdin Harrington finished the summer with a perfect 0.00 ERA in 7 appearances. He only allowed 9 base runners all season.
Nathan Trevillian led the club with a microscopic 0.70 WHIP while allowing an equally impressive .149 BAA and 1.30 ERA. He K'd 24 batters vs 6 BB.
All together there was only one pitcher on the Cardinal staff that allowed more hits than innings pitched.
